Esme graduated from the University of Stellenbosch, South Africa in 1990. She has since worked in a variety of Physiotherapy settings in South Africa, New Zealand and Canada. She recently joined the Start Line Physiotherapy team in the fall of 2009 after transferring from Salt Spring Island to the Duncan area. She worked on Salt Spring Island for the past 7 years. 

Esme has experience in orthopedics (muscles and joint problems), neurology, hospital physiotherapy and home care. Her primary interest is orthopedics and sports injury rehabilitation where her focus has been for the past 8 years. 

She has studied acupuncture, but is not currently licensed to practice this in Canada. She has also completed her Level 3 Manual Therapy post graduate studies. 

Outside of work, Esme enjoys working on her families local hobby farm. She loves to paint and make crafts. Her fitness pursuits have included swimming, running (Times Colonist 10K), hiking, and tennis. She also enjoys sailing around the Gulf Islands. Other areas of interest include skiing, scuba, and snorkeling.
