Heidi has been practicing Physiotherapy for over 12 years. While practicing in the United States for three and a half years after graduating, she gained experience in the areas of Stroke and Brain Injury Rehabilitation, Joint Replacement and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, Amputee Rehabilitation, Wound Care, and Neuromuscular (MS, Parkinson's, Cerebral Palsy) Rehabilitation. For the past 9 years she has been working primarily in the area of orthopedic (muscles and joints) physiotherapy, while also building a community practice of physiotherapy services in people’s homes. In private homes and nursing facilities throughout the Cowichan valley she works with people (children, adults and seniors) who experience neurological conditions, dementia, and recovery from catastrophic injuries.
She is an avid runner, who has completed 6 marathons including the Boston Marathon, which she ran with her father (in less than ideal conditions) back in 2007. In her teen years she competed in triathlons and was a lifeguard. Outside of running, her hobbies include gardening and cooking.
