Bowtech arrives in Cowichan Valley
Meet Melanye Walker. She’s new to the Start Line Clinic and with her, she’s brought a wealth of knowledge on muscle and connective tissue therapy through studies on Bowtech therapy.
Walker is beginning her career, practicing Bowen Therapy, which was developed by the late Tom Bowen in Geelong, Australia.
Sometimes called the “homeopathy” of bodywork, Bowen Therapy “utilizes subtle inputs to the body, known as ‘moves’, stimulating the body to heal itself profoundly.
In July 2010, Walker completed her therapy certification.
Ever heard of Bowen Therapy?
This technique is not widely recognized in Canada. Walker is one of six practitioners on Vancouver Island and is the only one certified by both Mount Royal University in Calgary and The Bowen Therapy Academy of Australia.
“Throughout my practicum hours and to this day, I am truly amazed at the healing our bodies are able to perform when the conditions are correct,” Walker said. “I was privileged to train under the masters Ozzie and Elaine Rentsch in August 2010.”
Bowtech can be beneficial in a wide range of situations. It can assist recovery from many conditions, from traumatic injury to chronic illness, depending upon each individual’s capacity to heal. Many clients have said Bowtech is the most relaxing modality they have ever experienced!
