BENEFITS OF PERSONAL TRAINING
1. Before you get hurt: A personal trainer can customize a program that you can do independently at home or at a gym.
2. Rehabilitation: A Personal Trainer will consult with your Physiotherapist. We all have aches and pains when we do certain activities. But this does not mean it’s normal. You can book a screening assessment with Wendy where she will determine what areas need more movement and mobility and what areas need strengthening or stabilization. She will then share this information with the trainer so you can have a program designed with input from your Physiotherapist.
3. After an Injury: Exercise is often the missing component in the recovery phase of an injury. It is the one area where you as a client must take responsibility for yourself. Just because the pain goes away does not mean that all is well. The pain gets less after the inflammation process subsides. The muscle, however, may still be in a shortened, contracted state or weak. You may be using a compensatory strategy to move that you are not aware of. Both of these scenarios can contribute to abnormal pulling or compression on the joints and will create a wear and tear situation over time.
Supervised Exercise
Personal Training offers you one-on-one attention. You will be given a detailed orientation that addresses the aerobic, strength and flexibility components of an exercise program.
Each session will be closely supervised to ensure proper and safe use of the equipment and body awareness. One-on-one training gives you the advantage of quicker results – the trainer is focusing only on you! See results as you progress through an exercise program at your pace and level.
